For beautiful lip here are some guidelines

For along lasting shine and giving your lips a heavy gloss here are three easy steps

To keep lip gloss from globing, exfoliate dry, flaky patches from the lips by gently rubbing a damp, soft-bristle toothbrush or wash cloth over the mouth. As the surface of your lips look smooth, blot dry with a soft towel. Then apply a heavy ointment or balm with glycerin or petroleum every night before going to bed to restore moisture and help heal cracks on the lips.

Select a lip pencil that matches the natural color of your mouth. Carefully 10733234apply along the outline of your lips. Blend any visible lines with the end of your finger or Q-tip. Then, apply a clear, waxy balm or anti-feathering product to fill in lines and create a moisture-resistant film over your mouth.

Put a small dot of lip gloss on the finger tip or wand applicator, wipe of any excess against the rim of the tube working in thin layers apply and dab off excess, blending outwards by patting gently just inside but not touching, the borders of the lips.

Hair Removal – eyebrows to toe waxing

Waxing is an ancient hair removal method commonly performed by a professional licensed esthetician, and has been around for thousands of years.

There are 2 categories of hair removal:

15608630Depilation- means that hair is removed at the skin line. Shaving and chemical depilatories are examples of depilation. Chemicals used for hair removal and are commonly sold in drug stores are Nair and Neet.

Epilation- means that the hair is removed below the surface of the skin. The advantage of depilation over depilation is that it will take longer for the hair to grow back if the hair is removed by epilation. Also if performed repeatedly on the same area over a prolonged period of time, the quantity of hair will be permanently reduced by waxing, tweezing, and electrolysis

For centuries women and men have been removing body hairs:

* Lip
* Chin
* Eyebrows
* Face
* Bikini
* Brazilian/Rio
* Underarm
* Arms
* Belly
* Toes
* Legs
* Men: Chest and Backs

There are several ways of hair removal systems:

* Tweezing
* Hot wax/or cold honey wax
* Sugaring
* Hard Wax
* Threading
* Electrolysis
* Laser Hair removal

Tweezing: Is a method of hair removal and is painful and most people do it themselves and is not always effective. Doing it yourself can cause problems where one eyebrow is different from the other but it is effective in between your professional waxing just to clean up a few stray hairs but you must learn to put the hair out correctly. It does cause tearing of the eye with when doing it yourself at home. A slanted Tweezeman tweezer is best to use. If your brows are very light, get them tinted it will make it easier for you to see them.

.Hot Wax:

Hot wax hair removal is an old method of hair removal and the most commonly method that is very effective for removing unwanted hair in both large and small areas..

It’s a minimum amount of discomfort for most people during the first service and after that it is no problem.

Note that the more you wax the less hair growth you will have but for your waxing to be effective once you start waxing please do not shave or else you will be starting from the your program from the beginning.

A layer of hot wax is applied to the skin with a spatula in the direction of the hair growth, then covered with a strip of muslin cloth/fabric, which is pressed onto the wax and then the strip is quickly pulled away in the direction opposite to the hair growth, taking hairs with it and leaving the skin smooth and hairless. Its also removes dead skin off the area that is being waxed. Its sounds painful but it only lasts for a second It is fast, inexpensive, very effective, and can be done at home or a spa, but preferably by a professional.

If you are using Retin-A, been in the sun in the last 4 days, let your esthetician know.

Eyebrows: eyebrow waxing should be left to a pro- its risky doing it at home. There is a precision involved in applying wax to the eyebrow area- needs someone with years of experience to do a great job.

Brazilian/Rio or Bikini waxing:

Its best not to shave for a week before you get this area waxed and also not go in the sun, or get sun tan from the tanning bed for a least a week.

Biking waxing is not for the weak at heart or someone who cannot stand pain, you have to be brave and want the hairs removed more than anything. You can also not be shy or sensitive because it requires you to remove your undergarments because every bit of hair is going to be removed leaving you clean and hair free. But you can request a “landing strip” is you want some hair saved.

Your legs are spread apart where you are examined to make sure you at least have a week to 3 weeks hair growth after your last shave. Then your legs are bent towards your chest or spread out and the waxing begins. Baby powder is sometime spread over your crouch and warm wax is spread in a thin layer and cloth strips are placed over the wax and pulled off and out comes the hair- the pain only last for 1 second and so it progressed until al the hair is removed. Usually 20-30 minutes then a calming gel or balm like tree tea oil is applied in the area where the hair has been removed to calm and disinfect the skin. You must not take a hot shower for a few hours, wear tight fitting jeans because you may cause a rash from the friction of the fabric, avoid direct sunlight, acid base creams, makeup.

If there are any straggly hairs left over after waxing they can be easily tweezed out using a good pair of tweezers.

Doing it yourself at home can be messy, hairs can break off at or below the skin surface, you can get an infection- its best to leave it to the professional. Cost of services start at $12.00 to $200.00.

Cold Wax: can be bought at any drugstore and it usually come sin tubes. Warm wax is more effective then cold waxing

Sugaring

Sugaring is an alternative way to waxing for hair removal.

Waxing and sugaring are very similar hair removal processes, where a thin layer of wax or gel is applied in the direction of hair growth, then covered with a strip of fabric, which is pulled off in the direction opposite to hair growth. Sugaring dates back to the ancient civilizations of Egypt and Greece. It is considered less painful than waxing because, unlike wax, the gel adheres only to the hair and not the skin, but it does not always take all the hairs off. Sugaring gel contain all-natural ingredients sugar, lemon and water.

Sugaring is a good option for people with sensitive skin.

Threading:

Is an alternative method of hair removal to waxing? Threading is a hair removal technique most widely used in Asia that removes hair very closely to the skin with the use of a fine thread. It is not scientifically proven that continual treatments help prevent future ingrown hair. The hairs sometime break and the threading method do not remove the hairs from the roots.

Electrolysis:

Electrolysis is the process of removing unwanted hair permanently by means of electricity; both the multiple-needle galvanic method and the more modern single-needle shortwave method are used today.

The galvanic method destroys the hairs by decomposing the source of nourishment for the hair through the use of direct current.

The blend method decomposes the source with the simultaneous use of galvanic current and low-intensity high-frequency current

The short wave method destroys the hair by coagulating the papilla through the use of heat.

The shortwave method is faster than other hair removal methods and is most commonly used.

Electrolysis is done witha needle and ouch it hurts and redness often occurs

Laser Hair Removal:

Is a very expensive procedure and you must make a commitment of going 2x a week for an extended period of time

Some people have experienced permanent hair reduction, but it has not been proven as to how long it takes for how long it lasts.

The method used is a light at a specified wavelength is delivered from a hand piece into the skin, where it targets dark material (the pigment in hair) this is intended to cause thermal and/or mechanical damage to a hair follicle while sparing surrounding tissues.

This procedure is considered safe if performed properly and is useful for large areas such as backs or legs. The regrowth of hair can come back lighter in color or finer in texture but not completely gone as you are made to believe.

Cause of Hair Loss in Women

A full head of hair is one of a man’s or women most important physical features therefore the consequences that they suffer in terms of self-identity and self-esteem is devastating.

Hair loss is when you hair is fine and falling off and you have no control of 19180942how to try to stop it from happening. It happens to more than ½ of the population, among these groups; many are struggling with thinning hair. You need to understand that your hair type is determined by your genetic make-up, and there are several contributing factors to the thinning of the hair; scalp stress is one of the major causes.

What will happen when hair begins to thin or baldness occurs? Basically because hair roots receive nutrients from blood vessels containing blood cells and the hormone testosterone. An enzyme present in the body called 5 alpha reductase can convert testosterone to another hormone called DHT. When DHT is present in the scalp tissue one can experience a reduced growth phase because the DHT stops the necessary nutrients from being processed by the hair follicle. Over time, extreme thinning or baldness can occur.

There are five early warning signs that will tell you that you are at risk for thinning hair.

* Blemishes on face, back and extremities
* Excessively oily scalp
* Noticeably thin-looking hair in various sections of the scalp.
* A loss of over 50 hairs per day with daily shampooing.
* Excessive body hair, including abnormal facial hair on women i.e. Upper lip,
* chin and facial hairs

There are 6 major causes of thinning hair:

Genetic Predisposition:

Is one of the primary contributing factors to thinning hair it is the genetic predisposition of hormonal balances or imbalances which can be inherited from either your parent’s side of the family. Both men and women can inherit the problem.

Stress and Trauma:

Stress causes poor vitamin and nutrient assimilation to the hair follicle and can produce increased levels of testosterone, which converts to DHT.

Nutrition and Diet:

Rapid weight loss, liquid protein diets, and high consumptions of foods that are over processed, low in nutrition and high in animal fats can have a negative affect on the body’s level of amino acids and vitamin assimilation.

Health:

A malfunction of the thyroid gland, which leads to hypothyroid disease, is the only known health-related causes of thinning hair.

Medications:

Hair thinning can be a side effect to taking certain medication, specifically hormone replacement therapy drugs, birth control, estrogen pills, chemotherapy, radiation treatments, thyroid disease treatments, blood pressure, diabetic, heart disease and even acne medications.

Environmental Toxins:

Environmental pollutants and estrogen mimics can increase hair loss in men and women.

Some thinning factors for women:

Pregnancy, Child Birth and Menopause:

These life changes can cause hormonal swings and sometimes permanent effect on healthy hair which leads to hair loss. When combining environmental pollution, changing nutritional habits and menopause the threat the healthy hair is magnified.

Rough Scalp Treatment:

Coloring, highlighting, permanent waving and relaxing your hair can cause

the scalp and hair to be dry, resulting in thin-looking hair. Rigorous hair

brushing, styling, rough scalp massaging, pulling, twisting, teasing, and braiding hair too tight including improperly applied hair extensions often cause temporary or even permanent scalp damage

Some factors that is unique to men

Excessive Body Building:

Can cause a peak in testosterone levels, therefore, increasing the levels of DHT

Steroid Usage

Taking steroid can cause hormonal imbalances; these artificial hormone level changes can cause thinning hair of loss of hair.

There is a large selection of Treatments offered for thinning hair and loss of hair.

Laser Hair Therapy is a non-surgical answer to hair loss.

It was first used to treat lower extremity ulcers (sores) on diabetics with poor blood supply and circulation. The lasers not only improved the book flow to the areas…but another astonishing side effect was noted…Body hair locate dint he radius of the laser beam grew thicker and longer, than the untreated surrounding areas.

Clinical studies have proven that the use of Laser Light stimulates cellular metabolism, protein synthesis, and tissue and cartilage generation, while dramatically increasing blood supply to targeted areas. Low level Lasers have been used successfully to treat hair loss as an alternative to medications, hairpieces and other option for the hair loss sufferers.

The Laser Hair Therapy Program increases micro-circulation of the follicle, which allow nutrients and freshly oxygenated blood to access the hair follicle with the results being a stimulation of the natural hair growth cycle.

Laser Hair Therapy is described as Low Level Lasers that are “soft” lasers or “cool” lasers because they o not have the thermal component to cut burn or vaporize skin tissue. It is based on the scientific principal of photo-biotherapy which occurs when laser light is absorbed by cells causing stimulation to cell metabolism and improved blood flow to the areas treated.

The Laser Hair Therapy program has shown extreme results in restoring natural hair growth. This treatment is painless, with no side effects and with no surgery required. It works as the laser light stimulates cell metabolism and causes damaged cells to be repaired This treatment activates the blood cells, it promotes cell division and protein synthesis, both which are important for natural hair regrowth.

This program takes 12 months with approximately 20 treatments or more throughout the year. For the first four to five weeks, a client sits under the laser light for 2 to 3 (15-minute) sessions per week, and then only 1 a week and then that 1 a month, after that first year, only twice-yearly.

A home hair program is advised which should include an equalizing detoxifying shampoo, a chemical free conditioner, a live enzyme cleaner and a pharmaceutical grade topical activator solution which helps to stimulate hair regrowth and remove DHT buildup from the follicle to allow the new hair regrowth to begin

The cost of a year’s program is approximately $3,850.00.

Always go in for a complimentary scalp evaluation before signing up for this program

Reasons for Ear Candling

Ear candling is a simple, effective method for removing ear wax build-up, fungus and impaction from within the ear canal.

32995568

During an Ear Candling (auricular candling ) session you lie on your side with your body in a straight alignment. A special conical candle is inserted into a protective plat….the candle is lit and slowly begins to burn. The small tapered end of the candle is gently placed into your ear canal. The ear candle—by it shape, designed length –draws ear wax and fungus deposits from deep inside your ear canal.

As the ear candling session progresses, extracted ear wax and fungus will be burned off, but a majority will be collected in the bottom part of the candle. After the candle has burned down and been extinguished, the therapist will cut open the remnant and show you the former contents of your ear canal. Most people cannot believe what has been collected there. Expect to be amazed.

For A short time after your ear candling session….you may feel lightness in you head and noises may seem to be much louder to you. This can be relieved by inserting cotton in each of your ears. You will most likely notice improved hearing, because the wax blockage is no longer present in your ears….

The following are a few conditions that may benefit you from ear candling:

. Headaches . Ringing in the ears . Migraines

. Ear infections . Plugged Ears . Chronic Sinusitis

. TMJ Dysfunction . Hearing Challenges . Imbalance

.Excessive wax . Inner Ear Pressure . Ear Aches and Pain

You can have future ear candling sessions whenever you feel the time is right….We recommend our clients to have ear candling every one to two months.

Ear candling is a natural way to clean out accumulated wax and white, flaky fungus from the ears. The accumulations withdrawn from your ears may be many months or even several years old. Ear candles are custom designed from natural fibers and tapered to precise specifications.

Ear candling does not hurt…It is painless, harmless and totally a relaxing experience. If it weren’t fro the intermittent crackling and hissing sounds—-due to the burning of the wax and fungus being drawn up the chimney of the candle—you would never know that anything was happening in your ear

Each session will last about 30 minutes.

Initially, most people need just 2 or 3 candling sessions to get their ears clean. However, some people may need u to eight (8) sessions over a six months period. Once your ears are clean, personal preference should determine how often you have your ears candled. Every one to two months would be practical.

Ear candling can benefit almost everyone, from infants to adults. Musicians can benefit-especially singers and horn blowers—who often have lot more wax build up than other people. People who wear hearing aid a benefit. Also those people, who have had previous ear injuries, can benefit from ear candling as they tend to have a greater build up of wax and fungus.

Ear candling should not be done to people who have ear tubes, perforated ear drums, or artificial ear drums.

Make sure your therapist uses Beeswax candles for your treatment and nothing else.
